Privacy Policy

TL;DR: We use Google Gemini to review your CV. If you are signed in, your PDF is stored privately and deleted with the analysis after 30 days. Signed-in analyses are private by default — you must opt in to share. Guest analyses are not stored. We never sell your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account Information: When you create an account or sign in with Google, we store your email address, name, and (if provided) profile picture URL. Credentials accounts store a hashed password.
  • Resume Data (signed-in users): When you upload a PDF while signed in, we extract its text to send to our AI provider, and we store the original PDF in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. This lets us re-render your marked-up CV on your results and history pages (and on a share page only if you enable sharing). The file is served only through short-lived signed links gated by our access controls, and is automatically deleted after 30 days. Guest uploads are processed in memory for the request only and are not written to our database or storage.
  • Analysis Results (signed-in users): We store the structured feedback generated by the AI (overall score, section comments) to display your results page, history, and — only when you enable sharing — a shareable link. Guest analysis results are returned to your browser only and are not retained by us.

2. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate ratemyresume.net:

  • Google Gemini: Used for analyzing the text of your resume. The text is sent to Google's API strictly for processing.
  • Supabase: Our database and storage provider, where we store user accounts, signed-in users' feedback results, and their uploaded PDFs in a private bucket.
  • LemonSqueezy: Our payment processor. We do not handle or store your credit card information.

3. Data Security and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or resume data to third parties. Analyses tied to an account are private by default. Only you (while signed in) can view them unless you explicitly enable public sharing for that analysis. When sharing is enabled, anyone with the unique URL can access the AI-generated feedback, score, and the original PDF. You can disable sharing at any time from your result page or dashboard. Guest analyses are never stored and cannot be shared via a link. Social preview cards (Open Graph) only include score and verdict details for publicly shareable analyses.

4. Data Deletion

Every stored analysis (signed-in users), including the uploaded PDF and the generated feedback, is automatically deleted 30 days after it is created. Guest results are never stored. If you wish to delete your account or a specific analysis (and its stored PDF) sooner, please contact us and we will remove it.
